Daily Office Lectionary App Reviews

I agree with Frpacman, this app worked great in 2013 and was the source of my daily devotional reading. Im very disappointed the app hasnt been updated and I no longer can use the app because of it crashing every time I go to open it. I would have really liked to us it in the approaching Lenten season. PLEASE UPDATE YOUR GREAT APP!

Im having the same problems that other reviewers report. In fact, the reason I saw the recent reviews was that I was in iTunes to re-download the app due to it crashing. I assumed the database was corrupted, but perhaps not as it is happening repeatedly. Ive updated to the most recent iOS, so perhaps that the app needs to updated accordingly. I dont really have any troubleshooting that can help really. Just try to open the app and it crashes before it can load.

Jim Coates rides again with another great app. If you have his one for the Daily Offices, be sure and pick up his Sunday lectionary app as well. Truly both are a joy to use!

I am very pleased with this app. It is great to have the readings for the daily office at my fingertips, and the readings are divided into morning and evening selections. The app functions well, and one may choose between the NRSV (Anglicized) and the NKJV. Neither is my personal favorite, but the NRSV is fine. Also, there is the option to select font style and size, which makes for an improvement in reading comfort. The default font looks nice on the "page," but is not the best for extended reading.

This keeps crashing in the midst of loading. I dont understand why. However, when it has worked, it is very handy indeed.

This app is even better than I had expected. It includes both years one and two and automatically updates the index at the beginning of each Advent. It makes praying the daily office much more convenient and a true spiritual joy. The Rev. Dr. Gerard Beritela

Poor design. Pages are busy. Didnt open initially and had to reload. Dont recommend.

First day of advent and its not working

For some reason I can only see the readings from the psalter, not the OT, Gospel or epistle readings.

There is currently a problem with the Daily Office Lectionary when opening prior to Advent 2014. If you are experiencing this problem, delete the app and then re-download and install and wait for the installation to complete. Also to select between NKJV / NRSV, rotate the device to portrait (vertical) orientation. To see all readings, swipe the page with your finger to turn the page or click the > button. Even with these issues, I still give this app five stars for content and ease of use. If you too enjoy this app, please write a good review to help keep the app in good standing so others would be encouraged to download Gods word!

Today is Nov. 2. The book cover comes up but it wont open. I turned off my iPad, then I deleted the app, then I retrieved it from the cloud. It still wont open. It was excellent until now--a number of years.

It needed to be deleted and reloaded at the new year, but otherwise a really nice app.

The old version was better; at least as far as I can tell because I can only view one page in this new version. The page I can see is too busy and I really dislike the red letter edition. Too bad because I used the old version almost daily.

The app wont open. Tried 100 times or more. I get the cover but it never opens. I keep hoping they will fix it but no dice thus far

Any possibility of other schedules like the RCL?

The basics work fine. I would be willing to pay up to $10 yearly for this app. I have been using this app since 2011. Stopped working at beginning of new church year Dec 2014. Had to delete app, then re-install. There are no instructions on how to use, and seems to be significant lag in execution on my iPad. I also find the new format "busy". I read first thing in AM, and would like it to look simple and plain. As far as I can tell, this is still the best app for American daily lectionary.

The app is stuck with the New King James translation and wont change to the NRSV. I find that totally unacceptable and wont be able to use it. (What I would really like is the NIV)

This app has never worked for me since I got it. Whether on my iPhone or iPad (both with latest iOS), the app freezes during the opening process. I tried contacting the developer through the website but never got a response. Until this problem is solved, save your money.
